What will happen on the day?
This day course is a bespoke course designed to offer you a fun-filled, engaging day. This is a fully hands-on experience with rare access to a variety of woodland skills. You will begin the day preparing your own lunch! Ponass your freshly sourced trout directly caught from Meon Springs Fishery, with zero food miles! You will need to make the framework for preparing your fish to cook over the open fire. This will require some tool use skills and a mini forage for the resources.
After lunch, we will prepare our seasonal game birds in a variety of methods ready for a dinner of game stew cooking on an open fire. After which we butcher and prepare a whole deer. Using locally sourced Venison, the experience will require you to skin, butcher & prepare the meat for dinner which will consist of freshly prepared venison steaks alongside a hearty seasonal game stew. Yummy!
Learning a variety of cuts and joints that the whole deer can offer, this experience will offer you foundational skills that you can build upon giving you a basic insight into practical skills & preparing your own Game/Fish at home. This can then give you more avenues to explore in the future and understand more economical and sustainable ways of sourcing your food.
