Just returned from a stag do at Embers Bushcraft and all I can say is it was fantastic. Superb facilities from the bell tents to the hammocks and fantastic hosting... read more from Ian and Sam. The knowledge and passion that they bring to the activities is second to none and we were incredibly well looked after all weekend. A massive thank you for everything you did for us and everything you took us through even if I couldn’t get those axes to stick….! Oh and Sorry for destroying patches of nettles searching for lost cricket balls - blame the stag!

Ian and his team hosted a Bushcraft birthday party for our 8 year old and it was utterly brilliant! We had nearly 30 children building their own camp fires,... read more making their own lunch and generally having a complete ball playing games and building dens in the woods. All superbly run which meant that as parents we were able to relax and enjoy watching the kids learn new skills and have a brilliant time.

We had a stag do last weekend at Embers Bushcraft staying from Friday to Sunday, Amazing from start to finish & worth every penny! We had the whole place... read more to ourselves & the location on the farm is outstanding. The food & activities were both great. The campsite has everything you need, large bell tents, futon beds, hot showers, toilets & even a generator if you need to charge anything. Ian even arranged to have a keg of ale from a local brewery waiting for us on arrival. Ian & Duncan were brilliant & honestly couldn't have done any more for us. I would highly recommend Embers Bushcarft to anyone, a massive thanks for giving us an unforgettable weekend.

Absolutely incredible experience hosted by Ian and Duncan. A party of us attended a weekend Friday to Sunday for a Bushcraft stag do. Ian and Duncan were great... read more hosts and we could do as little or as much as we wanted. At no point were we left hungry and there was everything needed to keep us comfortable in the camp. The Saturday morning started with preparing pigeon breast from the bird and migrated on to the fur on fallow deer what was hung up. We took it in turns to skin the carcass then harvest the different cuts of meat. Ian and Duncan talked through the process and background, demonstrating the depth of their knowledge. We then moved on to preparing 2 fresh trout fished from the local river the night before. Next up was some archery, axe throwing and air rifle shooting. Then we had some lunch lovingly prepared from some of the meat we had prepared. Next up was fire making from basics and Ian demonstrated some chemical fires as well as friction fire (see, we listened!). We all gave it a go and then after some wood whittling where we learned to make spoons, we all took part in the “gauntlet”. This was where each of us had to knock a can down with the air rifle, hit the target with an arrow, get an axe to embed in the target then light a fire using char cloth and flint. We took part in a Bush tucker trial which was an array of cups which contained different “natural food”. This was made in to a game which seemed to be rigged. Then the feast of dinner before settling down with beers in front of the fire. In the morning after breakfast we did some foraging and learnt about what you can and can’t eat in the Bush then home to recover. A throughly enjoyable, well recommended experience that won’t break the bank. If you’re considering doing it, just get it done!
